Bee my valentine handmade valentines card craft for kids

How adorable is this bee my valentine card craft? Perfect for sharing the love this valentines day!

I love a good pun. When were making cards we always try and bring a little fun to them. Unfortunately though, we haven’t made much for Valentines day this year. Our grampy passed away unexpectedly a couple of weeks ago and we’ve all been trying to slowly come to terms with it, which really hasn’t been easy. One thing we have realised though is how important it is to pull together as a family. We can’t be there in the same way we usually would but we’re doing what we can for each other. With that in mind my son and I thought it would be nice to make some cute little valentines cards to post out. It was good for him to get back a little bit of normality and for me too! Plus, we just love these cute little bumble bee cards.

Here’s what we used

  • Card – yellow, black and white
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Letter stickers (optional!)

How to make our bee my valentine card craft

Take a piece of yellow card and fold it in half to make your gift card shape. Line your small plate up so that it slightly overlaps the bottom of the card (this will give your bee a flat edge to stand on) and draw around the outside of the plate. Now use a pair of scissors to cut out the bee shape.

cut out some strips of black paper and glue them vertically across the length of your bumble bee.

Cut out and glue on a black triangle for the stinger and then give your a bee an eye too! to make our bumble bee’s eye we cut out a white circle and then draw on the details with a black marker.

Cut out a large white heart to make the wings and glue in on the front of your card at the top. Finish off by adding your own special message and once dry it’s ready to gift!
