Christmas is right around the corner, and this cute little christmas tree craft is perfect for getting into that festive feeling.

I love how each one turned out totally different. One of my children painted santa claus and the other painted tinsel and baubles, whilst I went for some pipe cleaner tinsel and festive stars.

Here’s what we used

  • Green and yellow card
  • Brown card (or a clean tp roll)
  • Scissors
  • A pencil
  • Decorational bits (I.e paint, pens or sticky bits)
  • My free christmas tree template, which is available at the bottom of this page

How to make our simple christmas tree craft

Start by printing and cutting out my free christmas tree template! Draw around the template onto your green card.

Cut out the christmas tree shape and then lay it out in front of you. Decorate your christmas trees in anyway that you like. I chose sequins and pipe cleaners to stick on but my kids chose to use paint!

Now, use our star template to draw and cut out a star to sit on the top of the tree. Stick the star in place using either glue or double sided tape.

Now it’s time to make the trunk for your christmas tree! You can either use a clean toilet toll or take a long strip of brown card..

And roll it round and glue it into a tube! Then take your scissors and cut two equal sized snips in one end of the tube directly opposite each other.

Slot the tree into your tube and your christmas tree craft is finished and ready to be displayed!
