This cute shirt and tie card is so easy to make and perfect to gift to a loved one for Father’s Day, birthdays and many other special occasions!

Here’s what we need

  • Coloured card
  • Patterned paper
  • Skin tone paper
  • Buttons
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How to make our shirt and tie card

Take the piece of coloured card that you will be using for the shirt and fold it in half into a card. Next make a small cut (roughly 5 or 6cm) in the top of the card at the centre point.

Fold the two corners of your cut outwards to form the shape of the shirt’s collar like you can see above.

Cut out a strip of your skin coloured paper and glue it down on the inside of the card to fill the gap between the collar sides.

Cut out the shape of the tie from your patterned paper and then make a small cut in the top of the tie at the centre point.

Fold the corners behind the tie to make a V shape and then cut off any excess that’s sticking out.

Glue the tie down at the base of the collar then add a few buttons to the front of the shirt

Finish off by adding any extra details such as a pocket, a name tag or a special message and your shirt and tie card is ready to be gifted to a loved one!

Paper chain snakes

Paper chain snakes

Here’s what we used

  • Thin card
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencil

How to make our paper chain snakes

Cut out several equal sized strips from the coloured card. You’ll probably need at least 6 plus to make a long enough snake.

Create a loop with your first strip and then continue paper chaining your strips until you reach your desired length

Now it’s time to make the head! You’ll want the head to be the same on both sides so the easiest way is to take a piece of card and fold it in half. From the fold line draw a tab to chain with and then add the shape of the head. Once you’re happy with your shape go ahead and cut it out.

Cut out a tongue and glue it down on the bottom side of the head. Add two googly eyes and any extra details then thread the head through the chain and glue together at the mouth as you can see above.

Finally we need to add the tail! Cut out a long thin triangle and glue it around the tail to finish your snake!

Then glue the other ends of the strips together to make a rainbow like shape.

Take the two ends and glue them together to create the circular shell.

Next take the card that you will be using to make the body of the snail. Cut out a strip the same width as the shell strips. Round off one end with Scissors to make the snails tail and then cut two little stalks on the other end, before attaching an eye to each stalk.
