Yes, I know its not even October yet but it’s never to early to start thinking about Christmas! We actually made these last year right before Christmas but we were so busy get ready for the big day that I didn’t actually get around to sharing them in time. These adorable cupcake liner Christmas cards were so easy for the older kids to make and look just as good as any store bought alternative, which is why i’m sharing them in september – just in case I forgot them again (i probably would!!)

How to make these cupcake liner Christmas cards.
Take your first cupcake liner and fold it in half with the design facing outwards. Fold the two end corners into the bottom middle of the cupcake case to make a triangular shape.
Add some glue to the folded sides of the cupcake case and secure it down onto your card. Then repeat the previous step with another cake case but this time fold it 2/3rs of the way inwards instead of to the centre so that its a bit wider. Glue your second cupcake case down tucked just inside the first cake case.
Repeat this process a third time, this time only fold the sides in about 1/3rd of the way to the centre so that its bigger again. Glue the third cupcake case down so that its tucked just inside the middle one.
Cut out and glue a star as your tree topper and a rectangle for the trunk. Add any optional decorations and a message inside then the card is ready to gift!
It’s been a quiet couple of weeks on the crafting front. Like many others we’ve slowly been trying to adjust to the new school routine with the new covid regulations that are in place. Whilst we still find time for crafting its obviously not as much as it was before and when we do the quality time is so nice that i often forget to take pictures of our craft ideas! Don’t worry though, going forwards I’ll still be sharing plenty of craft ideas, just sometimes without the help of my little sidekick! I’m still missing him massively during the days but it’s so fab to see him playing with the other children and learning new things every day! Right now he’s been getting really excited about Halloween. He’s already picked out his scooby doo costume and can’t wait until we can go get his pumpkin to carve. Hence today’s craft, these cute and easy cupcake liner Halloween pumpkins!
Here’s what we used
Orange cupcake liner
Black, brown and green markers
Glue
Position the cupcake liners flat on a piece of paper and then secure them down with glue.
Draw faces on to each cupcake case using a black pen. This is a great time to talk about different emotions with your little ones. Is their pumpkin happy or sad or angry etc?
Finish off the pumpkins by adding a stalk, leaf and tendril. Arent they just the cutest? Such a fun and easy way to keep little ones entertained. These little cupcake liner Halloween pumpkins look fab on handmade Halloween cards too!
Todays craft is another sweet and easy one. This little cupcake liner flower craft is perfect to make for both gifting and for displaying at home. My 4yo found these simple enough to make on his own and didnt want any help at all made! He actually made me a whole little flower garden to decorate an empty space on these shelf. We really like these little flowers and think that they would be fab as a handmade gift for mothers day, birthdays, valentines day or just as a fun summery craft!

How to make our cupcake liner flower craft.
Take your cupcake liner and fold it in half three times to give you a small triangular shape.
Now take your scissors and round off the wide side of your cupcake liner so that it looks like a petal.
Open up your cupcake liner to reveal your beautiful flower. Then take your smaller sized liner and glue it down in the centre of your flower as you can see above.
Take your straw and glue it centrally on the back of your flower. You may have to hold it for a few seconds until it bonds together. Finish your flower by cutting out a triangular cupcake liner leaf and gluing it around your straw. Your cute cupcake liner flower craft is finished! Why not make a whole bouquet to keep or gift?
After a few days off crafting we’re back again with yet another ocean themed craft! How adorable are these cake liner hand print hermit crabs? We’ve been watching a lot of national geographic documentaries lately and my little guy’s fascination with all things under the sea has grown even more than before. Which is exactly why you may have noticed a sudden influx of ocean themed crafts! We like to use these little crafts as a fun expansion when learning about new creatures. This craft was particularly great as my little guy was able to make his almost all by myself and it was simple enough for me to help my 1yo make!

How to make our cake liner HAND PRINT crabs
To make our seaweed background. My little one painted her fingers and the top half of her palm and then we printed all across the bottom. We also added a couple of colored hand prints to make the coral.
To make the crabs body, draw around little ones hands and cut out the hand prints.
Flatten your cupcake cases to make your shells. Then, position your hand prints and cases on your paper before gluing them down.
Finish off by giving each of your crab two eyes. For the crabs facing forward we just stuck the eyes flat and for the ones facing to the side we cut out two red rectangle stalks to stick the eyes on. Don’t these little cake liner hand print hermit crabs just look adorable?!
My little boy loves threading toys and activities so today we decided to get out some beads and pipe cleaners as a busy activity. It was Ted’s idea that we could make a key ring for mummy’s bag and after a bit off messing around we came up with these adorable bead bunny bag charms. It took us a couple of tries to get them secure so that the beads couldn’t come off but once we figured out how to wrap them tightly we ended up making one for him to gift to half of our family – when we can visit them again!
You will need
Pipe cleaner
Pony beads
Ribbon or string
Take your pony beads and thread them on to your pipe cleaner until it’s about 1/3 full.
Pull your two ends of pipe cleaner round so that your beads form a circle. Then twists the two ends together where they meet.
Now to make the ears! Start first with one side, thread the pony beads on until you have about 1cm of pipe cleaner left visible.
Bend your end of pipecleaner down behind your circle..
And twist the end a few times around the point where you previsously twisted your two pipe cleaners together. Make sure it is pulled as tight and secure as possible so that they cannot be pulled apart easily.
Repeat this process on the other side to make a second ear and finish your bunny shape!
To hang your charm, thread a piece of ribbon or string through the outer bead at the bottom of each ear
Then tie your cute little charms on to your bag zip and you are finished! Don’t they look sweet!
