These lollipop stick pals are our favorite kind of craft, each child creates their own designs and at the end you have a variety of different ideas – each one awesome and unique! The kids loved making these and were using them to put on puppet shows from under the table before finally deciding to use them as homemade bookmarks. This little craft is great for groups, simply put out a variety of materials for the children to use!
Here’s what we used
Wide lollipop stick
Paint or felt tip pens
Googly eyes
Coloured paper
Scissors
Glue
Optional decoration bits and pieces
How we made our lollipop stick pals
Using pens or paint colour in the lollipop stick and leave it to dry.
Take the pipe cleaner and shape the ends as desired to make the hands before twisting it on to the lollipop stick.
To make the hands for this bookmark we bent three bumps into the end of the pipe cleaner then twisted the length of the pipe cleaner between one of the bumps to secure before shaping with our hands. We then repeated this on the other side.
Add some fun facial features to the top of the lollipop stick bookmark
And finish off by adding any extra customisations such as hats, clothes or any other decorations!
We’d love to see how your little one’s lollipop stick pal turns out. Did you know you can share them with us on Pinterest or Facebook?
How cute is this paper flower pot craft? We had so much fun making these to brighten up our living room! They look fab on display and make great handmade gifts for mothers day, valentines day, birthdays, teacher gifts and more!
Here’s what we used
Coloured paper
Glue
2 Paper cups
Bamboo skewer
Paint & paintbrush
Scissors
A button
How to make this cute paper flower pot craft
First start by painting one of the cups to make the plant pot. Then take the second cup and chop off a small section from the bottom. Paint this section the color you want your flower to be planted in; we used brown for soil. Then finally take your skewer and color it green to make the stem. pop them aside to dry – We used a small piece of polystyrene to stand our stem up in whilst it was drying.
Take the colored paper that you will be using for the flower head and cut it into 6-8 equal strips of paper. Glue your strips together at the center to form a sun shape as in the above picture.
Take the end of each strip and glue it down at the center
of the flower.
Continue this process with all of the strips and then glue down the button to make the center of the flower.
Attach your painted stem to the back of your the flower. Then cut out a strip of green paper and glue the two ends together to make a leaf. Glue the leaf onto the stem and repeat as desired.
Glue the end piece of cup down inside the plant pot cup so that the base is facing upwards. Pierce the flower stem through the upturned cup and then through the base of your plant pot cup so that it stands stiff. TIP: if your cup has a flat base rather than a raised base then a lump of blu tack in the bottom of the plant pot cup will give the stem something to stick in to. Add any extra decoration and once dry the flower is ready to display or gift!
These adorable heart shaped pizza cards are perfect for a variety of occasions!
Today were back with a little twist on one of our older crafts – the pizza heart card! We thought it would be cute if instead of sticking the hearts onto a card we made the cards themselves heart shaped and we weren’t disappointed! How cute are these little cards? They’re super simple, quick to make and are perfect for a whole range of occasions such as valentines day, fathers day, mothers day and more!
Here’s what you’ll need
Coloured card (we used beige, red, yellow, grey and pink)
Scissors
Glue
How to make our heart shaped pizza cards
Take your pizza base coloured card and fold it in half. Using the bottom corner as the point draw a heart onto the card. Remember to leave part of the fold intact otherwise you’ll end up with two heart shapes rather than one heart card! Once happy with your shape, cut it out.
Cut out a slightly smaller red heart and glue it centrally on to the front of the card.
Now its time to cut out your toppings and glue them onto the front of your card. We went with a classic cheese, ham and mushrooms!
Finish off by adding a special message on the inside and your pizza heart card is ready to gift!
How cute are these yarn wrapped hearts – Perfect for gifting!
It’s a little bit late to be sharing these for valentines day but we made them a couple of days ago and I think they are just too cute not to share! These little hearts are so sweet and fun to craft and are fab as little handmade gifts for children to make and gift for valentines day, mothers day, fathers day, birthdays and much more. The best part is that they’re so simple and quick to make too!
Here’s what you’ll need
A piece of cardboard (an old box will do!)
Yarn
Stapler or tape
How to make these yarn wrapped hearts
Take a piece of old cardboard and cut out the base shape of your heart. Attach the end of the yarn onto the heart using either tape or staples.
Wrap the yarn around the heart several times until you get a nice thick and puffy heart shape. Don’t worry if the yarn slips during the first couple of rounds, it gets easier as the heart gets bigger and you have more yarn for it to catch on. Once you’re happy with the size of the heart, snip off the yarn and tie your loose end around one of the strands on the heart before gentle tucking the loose end into the heart.
To use the yarn heart as a hanging ornament simply cut out a length of yarn, thread it under the yarn at the top center of the heart and tie it into a knot.
How adorable is this bee my valentine card craft? Perfect for sharing the love this valentines day!
I love a good pun. When were making cards we always try and bring a little fun to them. Unfortunately though, we haven’t made much for Valentines day this year. Our grampy passed away unexpectedly a couple of weeks ago and we’ve all been trying to slowly come to terms with it, which really hasn’t been easy. One thing we have realised though is how important it is to pull together as a family. We can’t be there in the same way we usually would but we’re doing what we can for each other. With that in mind my son and I thought it would be nice to make some cute little valentines cards to post out. It was good for him to get back a little bit of normality and for me too! Plus, we just love these cute little bumble bee cards.
Here’s what we used
Card – yellow, black and white
Scissors
Glue
Letter stickers (optional!)
How to make our bee my valentine card craft
Take a piece of yellow card and fold it in half to make your gift card shape. Line your small plate up so that it slightly overlaps the bottom of the card (this will give your bee a flat edge to stand on) and draw around the outside of the plate. Now use a pair of scissors to cut out the bee shape.
cut out some strips of black paper and glue them vertically across the length of your bumble bee.
Cut out and glue on a black triangle for the stinger and then give your a bee an eye too! to make our bumble bee’s eye we cut out a white circle and then draw on the details with a black marker.
Cut out a large white heart to make the wings and glue in on the front of your card at the top. Finish off by adding your own special message and once dry it’s ready to gift!
