Where we live were quite close to several farms so every day we have tractors and farm equipment rolling up the road past our house. My son thinks it’s great, he loves all things farm and lets be honest, tractors are pretty cool! We made this cute little funky foam tractor craft to go on his bedroom door as part of a door sign. All we did is glue it down on a strip of card and write his name on it and it looks fab. They’re really simple to make and provide a great opportunity to practise learning shapes too.
You will need
Coloured foam
Scissors
Glue
Choose the main colour you want to use for your tractor. From this colour, cut out the L shape to make the body of your tractor as shown above.
Cut out a strip of your primary colour that’s slightly wider than the top of your L piece and glue it down along the top. Then, cut out a white square and glue it down in place to make your window.
Cut out one large circle for the rear wheel and one slightly smaller circle for the front wheel. Stick them down.
Cut out two circles which are slightly smaller than the wheels you just made. Glue them down in the centre of the wheel to complete your tyres. Finish off your funky foam tractor by cutting out a little rectangle spout and attaching it to the back of your tractor.
Ted has decided that he wants to decorate his door with animals. So the last few days we’ve been busy crafting some funky foam creatures. This cute little pig is our favourite so far and has taken centre stage to make our diy foam pig door sign. Ill be sharing our other foam animals at somepoint soon so keep your eyes open for those if you’re looking to make a little collection!
You will need
Coloured foam
Googly eyes
Black marker

Pink pipecleaner
First you will need to cut out the base shape of your pig’s body. Draw a circle and add two rectangles for the legs as shown in the picture above.
Cut out a smaller circle for the pigs head and glue it down on the body.
Give your pig two pointy pink ears and a oval snout.
Now to give your pig his cute little face! Glue on two googy eyes, two nostrils and a smiley mouth. Also draw or stick two little hooves at the bottom of his legs
To make your pig’s curly tail; twist your pink pipe cleaner around a pencil and then stick it in place at the back of your pig and he is finished!
Why not glue your pig to a strip of card or foam and make your very own door sign?
