This ‘pick n mix’ kind of craft where you just pop everything in the middle and the kids go wild coming up with their own wild and wacky craft is always so much fun and is my favourite kind for pre-schoolers and toddler groups! Each design always turns out so unique and wonderful which makes this haunted house shape collage craft perfect for decorating Halloween themed displays boards.

Making a haunted house shape collage
To set this craft up we simply took our colored paper and cut out several different sized shaped from each color, then popped them in the center of table with a pot of glue.
The kids then picked out the larger shapes and began sticking them down to create the base of their houses.
They then added smaller shapes to make doors, windows and extra decorations!
once dry we framed their pictures and stuck them up on the kitchen door – don’t they look fab!

Cut out 3-5 long strips of tissue paper and glue them around the inside of the bottom of the toilet roll tube.

Tomorrow is the first of October and that means it’s officially the start of spooky season! We can’t wait to start decorating the house and today we’ve been busy making these fun tp roll Halloween bats which we’re going to turn into a spooky garland for the conservatory. We still have plenty left to make on the weekend when my son is home but I think it’s going to look amazing!

Cut out two white circle eyes and then glue a circle pupil onto each one. Glue the eyes on to the front of the bat then finish the face by adding a mouth and two pointy triangle fangs.
Next, Cut out the shape of the bat’s wings and stick them onto the back of the toilet roll bat.
Finally, Take the pipe cleaners and twist three loops in one end of each to make the feet. Stick the other end of the pipe cleaner leg down in place inside the bottom end of the toilet roll. Once dry your bat is ready to display!
Autumn is my favorite season and with it comes one of my favorites holidays – Halloween! The raincoats and scarves are already out which we’ve taken as a sign that its time to start making some homemade decorations for the spooky season. My kids aren’t really into trick or treating, they’d rather go to a Halloween party or just stay home, dress up and watch a movie which sounds perfect to me! One thing we do love to do together though is decorate the house. so today we’ve started making our decorations with this fun paper plate shape pumpkin craft! These are great practice for children like my daughter who are just learning their shapes.
Here’s what we used
Paper plate
Orange paint and paintbrush

Today my son and i have been chatting about thanksgiving. Living over in the UK we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving but we do have American friends who talk about it all the time, it just sounds like such a lovely tradition and a great way to spend time with family. Of course we have looked online together to research the history of thanksgiving to see how it all began and we’ve made these fun little fingerprint thanksgiving turkeys but we would love to hear how you celebrate, if you do! Are there any special family traditions that you have? We’d love to know!

How to make a paper plate turkey!
Start by taking the paper plate and cutting it half, keep one half and put the other one aside. Now it’s time for little one to cover the paper plate in beautiful multi colored fingerprints! once finished, place the paper plate to one side to dry.
Whilst the paper plate is drying take your brown card and cut out the shape of your turkey’s body – it looks almost like a number 8! Then cut out two little turkey legs and glue them in place at the bottom of the body.
Give the turkey two eyes, a big triangle beak and a red wattle.
Once your paper plate is dry, take your turkey and glue it down in the center of the plate. your plate turkey is finished! Isn’t he just the cutest? so simple and easy too! How do you celebrate thanksgiving? We would love to hear your traditions!
