Shape train valentines card

Shape train valentines card

Valentines is fast approaching and its almost time to start making cards ready to give to loved ones.
This little shape train valentines card is so easy to make. My son is obsessed with all things train, so when I’m struggling to capture his crafty interest this is the go to option!

You will need

  • Coloured paper
  • Coloured card
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Marker

To start you will need to cut out your shapes. You can use any shapes you like to create your train but you can see above the shapes that we used if you would like to make yours the same.

Fold your card in half. Glue down the shapes to make your train on the right hand side of your card.

Now leave a small gap behind the train and glue down your carriage and big valentines heart!

connect your train and carriage by drawing a small line. All that’s left to do is to add your special valentines message!

Valentines Lovebug bookmarks

Valentines Lovebug bookmarks

Time seems to be travelling so fast at the moment, Christmas has been and gone and valentines day is right round the corner. Handmade gifts are a fab way to say I love you and these valentines lovebug bookmarks are a really sweet and simple make for children to give to their family and other loved ones this February.

You will need

Coloured foam
Googly eyes
Popsicle stick
Scissors
Coloured paint or felt tip pens.
Glue

Start off by decorating your popsicle sticks with paint or felt tips and then put it aside to dry. Next, take your red foam and cut out a circular shape.

Place your red circle about 1/3 of the way onto your black foam, draw around the edge of your circle to create a small semi-circle. Cut out the semi-circle and glue it on to your red base to create your lovebug’s head.

Cut a thin strip of black foam and glue it down from the base of the head to the bottom of the circle to create two wings. Cut out some small foam hearts and glue some onto each wing.

Now give your lovebug two googly eyes!

Glue your popsicle stick to the back of your lovebug and your bookmark is finished!
