Cupcake liner christmas cards

Yes, I know its not even October yet but it’s never to early to start thinking about Christmas! We actually made these last year right before Christmas but we were so busy get ready for the big day that I didn’t actually get around to sharing them in time. These adorable cupcake liner Christmas cards were so easy for the older kids to make and look just as good as any store bought alternative, which is why i’m sharing them in september – just in case I forgot them again (i probably would!!)

Here’s what we used

  • Cupcake cases
  • Coloured card
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How to make these cupcake liner Christmas cards.

Take your first cupcake liner and fold it in half with the design facing outwards. Fold the two end corners into the bottom middle of the cupcake case to make a triangular shape.

Add some glue to the folded sides of the cupcake case and secure it down onto your card. Then repeat the previous step with another cake case but this time fold it 2/3rs of the way inwards instead of to the centre so that its a bit wider. Glue your second cupcake case down tucked just inside the first cake case.

Repeat this process a third time, this time only fold the sides in about 1/3rd of the way to the centre so that its bigger again. Glue the third cupcake case down so that its tucked just inside the middle one.

Cut out and glue a star as your tree topper and a rectangle for the trunk. Add any optional decorations and a message inside then the card is ready to gift!

Christmas is right around the corner and we’re officially at the stage where we make and post our Christmas cards! My son and I wanted to share this little design with you because it’s so simple but looks adorable too. We’ve been making these since he was tiny, I used to help him with the tricky bits but now he’s all grown up he barely even asks for my help. It’s amazing how fast he is growing and gaining independence. Sometimes I wish time would slow down a little but I’m so super proud of him! His little Christmas tree card designs really are adorable and we can’t wait to share them with loved ones.

Here’s what we used

  • White paper
  • Red card
  • Coloured markers
  • Decorations (we used sequins and buttons!)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How to make our super simple Christmas tree cards.

To make our cards we did our design on white paper and then mounted it on to card but drawing straight on card looks fab too! Take a green marker and starting at the center near the top of your card draw a gradually snaking line downwards, getting wider as you near the bottom.

Cut out a star shape and glue it in place at the top of your tree line.

Add some colourful decorations all along the tree line. Then take a marker and add a little stump at the bottom of the tree.

We finished off by mounting our design onto some red card. Dont they look adorable? So simple too!
