Here’s what we need

  • Coloured card

How to make our shirt and tie card

Take the piece of coloured card that you will be using for the shirt and fold it in half into a card. Next make a small cut (roughly 5 or 6cm) in the top of the card at the centre point.

Fold the two corners of your cut outwards to form the shape of the shirt’s collar like you can see above.

Cut out a strip of your skin coloured paper and glue it down on the inside of the card to fill the gap between the collar sides.

Cut out the shape of the tie from your patterned paper and then make a small cut in the top of the tie at the centre point.

Fold the corners behind the tie to make a V shape and then cut off any excess that’s sticking out.

Glue the tie down at the base of the collar then add a few buttons to the front of the shirt

Finish off by adding any extra details such as a pocket, a name tag or a special message and your shirt and tie card is ready to be gifted to a loved one!

Here’s what we used

How to make these cute pipe cleaner flowers

Start by taking two of the same colored pipe cleaner and twisting them together to make one large stem.

Fold a small loop near the center of the pipe cleaner and then twist it secure at the point where the two pipe cleaners were joined.

Create a second loop next to the first and twist it at the same center point to secure it.

Repeat this step to create a total of 5 or 6 loops and then twist the loose end around the center of the flower to secure it.

Take the pipe cleaner that you will be using for the center of the flower and wrap it around the center of the flower going in and out of each petal as you do. Secure it in place by tucking the end in under the center piece you just wrapped.

Next take the green pipe cleaner and push it up under the back of the center pipe cleaner. Bend the top of it down over the centre to secure. Finally add a leaf by folding a small piece of pipe cleaner into a loop and then twisting in onto the stem. The flower is finished and ready to gift or display; Why not repeat this process until you have a whole bunch of flowers!

Caterpillar pencil pot craft

Caterpillar pencil pot craft

How cute is this caterpillar pencil pot craft? My daughter is at a stage where she really loves drawing and colouring but one thing she doesn’t love is when her pencils are constantly rolling off the table! This little cutie solves that problem and was super fun to make too!

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Cardboard rolls
  • Paints (optional!)
  • Coloured paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Glue gun or pva and pegs
  • Coloured markers
  • A pipe cleaner

How to make this caterpillar pencil pot craft

First start by taking your cardboard rolls and cutting them to different lengths. We placed our full sized roll in the middle and then cut the rolls either side descending in height.

Now it’s time to add some colour to the caterpillar. Paints are a great option but this time we decided to use coloured paper. We cut out a strip of paper the same height as the roll and long enough to wrap around it and then glued it on.

Repeat the previous steps until all rolls are colored, then take your glue gun and glue the rolls together to make the caterpillar shape.

Cut out and glue on two eyes and a nose. Then take your pipe cleaner and fold it in half before using the glue gun to secure it down inside the head section of the caterpillar to make the antennae.

Glue a little foot shape onto each body roll of the caterpillar then optionally mount your pencil pot on to some card. Once dry your super cute caterpillar pencil pot is finished and ready to use!
