Start by taking your piece of card and folding it in half to make the card shape. Next take your chosen colour paper and cut out four long strips (we used the entire vertical length of the paper). Glue the Paper down in a star shape on the front of the card as above.
Add a bit of glue to the end of each strip and fold them inwards to stick in the center.
Cut out and glue down a circle to make the center of the flower. Next take your marker and draw the stem of the flower before cutting out and adding a leaf.
Finish off your card by adding a special message to the front and your cute handmade flower card is ready to gift!
These adorable little bookworm bookmarks are so sweet and simple. They’re perfect for young readers or as a handmade gift for loved ones! We originally made one for Granny but i liked them so much that my little guy wanted to make one for me too and aren’t they just the sweetest?

Googly eyes
Pen
How to make these bookworm bookmarks
Start by cutting out the rectangle shape of your bookmark. Then take your scissors and cut out 6-8 little circles. Glue them into an zig-zag pattern to make the bookworm’s body.
Add a face to your bookworm. For ours we added two googly eyes, a paper mouth and two antennae. Once the eyes had secured a little we used a pen to draw around them and add some glasses.
Next it’s time to make book. Cut out a rectangle strip of card that is the same height as your bookmark and then fold it in half to make the book. Trim the width as necessary. Then cut out a slightly smaller rectangle from your white paper and glue it into the centre of the book to make the pages. Use a marker to add a special message.
Finish off by adding any optional decoration and your bookmarks are ready to use or gift!
Simple and easy to make; this Paper flower card is perfect for mothers, grandmothers, teachers and more!

Cocktail stick (optional)
How to make this adorable Paper flower card
First you’ll want to Start by making your card. We made ours tall and narrow by folding a square piece of card. Once you have your card, cut out a white paper rectangle to glue onto the front and create the frame effect.
Next take your quilling strips/ long thin pieces of coloured paper and begin rolling them tightly. We did ours just by hand but some people find it handy to use a cocktail stick. Once you have reached the end glue the loose end down onto the paper roll.
Glue down a rolled peice of paper for the centre of the flower and then cut out and glue down a thin strip of paper for the stem.
Build up the rolled paper petals around the outside of the flower. 5-6 normally works perfectly.
To make the leaves, roll and glue your paper a little less tightly and then pinch it at opposite ends. Add a paper flower pot and a name/message and this adorable paper flower card is complete and ready to gift!

You will need
Paint and paintbrush
4 thick popsicle sticks
White and Coloured Paper
Glue gun/strong glue
Scissors
Marker
Start off by painting your popsicle sticks in your chosen colours. We used light pink and light purple. When you’ve finished, pop your sticks aside to dry.
Whilst your sticks are drying you can make the decorations for your frame. To make the hearts put two coloured pieces of paper together and cut a heart shape out of them. cutting both at the same time will give you two equal size and shape hearts. Fold both your hearts In half. Glue one half of one heart to one half of the other. This should give you the t shape that you can see above. You’ll need to make two of these.
To make the daisies, cut out a white flower and then glue a yellow circle in the centre. You’ll need two daisies.
Once your sticks are dry glue them into a square as you can see above.
Add your little handmade decorations to the corners and optionally write a message on your frame. finish off your frame by cutting out a picture and gluing it to the back of your frame. Now all thats left is to do is gift your creation to a special someone!
Today we’ve been making yet more valentines crafts! This time however, we’ve used a resource that i haven’t used on this blog yet; chalk. chalk is a really fun and flexible medium and my son loves to use it both out on the pavement and for inside crafts too. It’s just such an interesting texture and style for kids. What’s great for us grownups too is how cheap chalk is, you can pick up a pack of chalk for under £1 at most supermarkets. Which makes this craft fun, easy and affordable – perfect for preschools and groups!
You will need
Coloured chalk Card paper Scissors Tape or blue tack Marker
Take your scrap piece of paper and cut it down to the same size as the front of your card (this is so that you can be sure your stencil is the right size). Fold it half and then using the fold as the centre; draw half a heart shape and cut it out to give you an equal sided heart stencil.
Place your stencil over the front of your card and secure it down with tape or blu tack. Make sure that its tightly secure so that it doesn’t move about when little one is colouring in!
Take your chalks and colour in your heart using stripes of different coloured chalks. Blow off any excess chalk and then slowly peel the stencil away. You may need to tap your card on the table to remove any remaining excess.
Finish off your chalk heart valentines card by adding your special message to the front and filling out the inside to gift to your loved one!
