How to make our tp roll ballerina puppet craft
Take a skin tone coloured piece of paper and cut out a strip that’s long enough to wrap around the paper roll and approximately 1/3rd the height of it. Glue the strip around the top of the paper roll to make the princess’ head.
Cut out a second strip of colored paper to cover the bottom 2/3rds of the roll and glue it on to the paper roll to make the princess’ dress.
Now cut out a strip of paper and style it as desired to make the hair. We used a long triangular shape to make this ballerina’s fringe.
Use your markers to add a face to your tp roll ballerina.
Cut out a strip of coloured paper and make several snips into the bottom of the strip before curling the ends to make the tutu. Glue the tutu around the toilet roll.
Next cut out four equal strips of paper and fold them using a fan fold (one way and then the other) to make the arms and legs. Glue them into place on the toilet roll.
Cut out two hands and two feet and glue them onto the end of the arms/legs.
Optionally glue the ballerinas hands together above their head and then take a good length of string and attach either end to one of their hands. once dry your ballerina is ready to be played with!
This adorable tp roll snail craft is so simple to make and is a great way to keep the kids entertained. Each snail turns out cool and unique which makes this a fun craft idea for at home and for groups too!

How to make our tp roll snail craft.
Cut out a strip of coloured card the same height as the tp roll and long enough to cover it. Glue the card around the roll.
Cut out 5 strips of paper, they should be roughly equal in width but varying length. We initially cut ours to them same length and then dropped them by Two cm each time to give us strips that were 20cm, 18cm,16cm,14cm and 12cm.
Line up and glue all of the strips together at one end.
then line up and glue together the other end of the strips.
Stick the two ends of strips together to make the circular snail’s shell. then attach the shell at one end of the tp roll.
Finally take a pipe cleaner and fold it in half to make a v shape. Glue the folded end of the pipe cleaner into the top inside of the tp roll and then add a Googly eye onto each end of the pipe cleaner. Add some glue around the inside of the head end of the roll and then pinch it together to seal it. Once dry your cute tp roll snail craft is finished!
With all the lovely sunshine that we have been having here in the UK we haven’t really been crafting much this week. We have however had a wonderful weekend visiting a local beach and playing in the garden.
One thing we noticed whilst playing in the garden is that the butterfly’s are back! It was so lovely to see them and a good sign that summer is on its way – we can’t wait! So for today’s craft we wanted to share this super cute toilet roll butterfly craft. Aren’t they just lovely? So bright and beautiful!
Heres what we used
Coloured paints and paintbrush
Pipe cleaner
Coloured card
Googly eyes
Toilet roll
Scissors
Glue (we used a glue gun but you could always PVA and peg!)
How to make our toilet roll butterfly craft
Start by taking your empty toilet rolls and coating them inside out in the chosen colour of paint.
Once dry, you will need to cut the rolls into four equal rings. Our rings are each 1/4 of a roll.
Now to make the butterfly’s body! Take a pipe cleaner and cut it in half. Line the two pieces up and begin twisting them together at one end leaving only a small section untwisted at the top for the antennae. Cut out a circle for the butterfly’s face and add details such as the googly eyes, a mouth and some rosy cheeks. Then glue the face onto the pipe cleaner just below the base of the antennae.
Take each of your toilet roll rings and pinch them at opposite ends to make the shape of the wings. Glue one of your upper wings to a lower wing at the point. Repeat this with the other two wings. Then glue both sides of wings together with the butterfly’s body in the middle (if using PVA you may need to peg the pieces together whist drying). Once dry your cute little toilet roll butterfly craft is finished!
