How cute is this paper flower pot craft? We had so much fun making these to brighten up our living room! They look fab on display and make great handmade gifts for mothers day, valentines day, birthdays, teacher gifts and more!
Here’s what we used
2 Paper cups
Paint & paintbrush
How to make this cute paper flower pot craft
First start by painting one of the cups to make the plant pot. Then take the second cup and chop off a small section from the bottom. Paint this section the color you want your flower to be planted in; we used brown for soil. Then finally take your skewer and color it green to make the stem. pop them aside to dry – We used a small piece of polystyrene to stand our stem up in whilst it was drying.
Take the colored paper that you will be using for the flower head and cut it into 6-8 equal strips of paper. Glue your strips together at the center to form a sun shape as in the above picture.
Take the end of each strip and glue it down at the center
of the flower.
Continue this process with all of the strips and then glue down the button to make the center of the flower.
Attach your painted stem to the back of your the flower. Then cut out a strip of green paper and glue the two ends together to make a leaf. Glue the leaf onto the stem and repeat as desired.
Glue the end piece of cup down inside the plant pot cup so that the base is facing upwards. Pierce the flower stem through the upturned cup and then through the base of your plant pot cup so that it stands stiff. TIP: if your cup has a flat base rather than a raised base then a lump of blu tack in the bottom of the plant pot cup will give the stem something to stick in to. Add any extra decoration and once dry the flower is ready to display or gift!
How cute is this simple toilet roll flower craft? These little flowers are a great project for kids to work on with a grownup. They look fabulous on display and are perfect for gifting for mothers day or valentines day too!
Heres what we used
Paint & a paintbrush (we used green for the stem and leaves & yellow for the petals)
Glue (we used a glue gun but pva and pegs work too!)
How to make this toilet roll flower craft
Start by taking the paper rolls and stem item and coating them in colored paint. we used one yellow roll, one green roll and one painted green skewer (with the pointy end chopped off!) Per flower.
Cut your coloured paper roll into 5-7 rings. For this flower we used 5.
Pinch the rings at each side to form the petal shapes. Using a blob of glue at one end, glue a petal on either side of the stem. Then continue to glue the petals around ensuring they are glued to the petal on either side of it.
Cut out a coloured circle to make the centre of the flower and use a black marker to add some seeds. Glue the circle down in place.
Take the green paper roll and cut out some thin green rings. Pinch them at either end to make the leaf shape and then glue them onto the stem. Once dry your toilet roll flower craft is finished! Aren’t these just the sweetest?
It’s time for another paper cone craft! We’ve had so much fun making them today and next i want to share with you these lovely paper cone princesses. We’ve made quite a few and tried to come up with several different designs for them, these ones in the picture are our favourites though. Our princesses are all fictional characters but you could even suggest that your child tries making themselves to make this little craft even more fun!
You will need
Coloured thick craft paper or card
Eye stickers (optional)
Decoration bits and bobs (optional)
To make the dresses
Take a coloured piece of A4 paper and fold it in half to make a card shape. Then, take a pencil and draw a gradual curve starting from just above the centre of your fold line to the bottom right corner (you’ll need to make sure the curve isn’t too sharp or it won’t match up when folded). Cut out your shape.
Fold your shape in half and trim off any excess to make sure both sides are even.
Open up your shape to reveal your 4 sections Cover one of your end sections in glue..
and then pull it round and stick it down on the back of your other end section to create a triangular cone shape for the dress.
To make the face and arms
Start off by cutting out a circle for the face and an egg shape for the hair.
Glue the face piece down onto the hair and then cut the hair into your chosen style.
Now to give your princess a face starting with two eyes. We used eye stickers but if you dont have these you can simply cut out two white circles and draw on the details with a black marker. Then, glue down a mouth and two rosy blush circles on her cheeks.
To finish off the head, cut out a shiny crown and stick in place at the top of her head.
To make the arms, cut out two rounded strips and roll one end of each up slightly.
Glue your princesses head down in place at the top of your cone shape and then use the flat piece of your arms to attach them to the triangle on either side of the face. Your super cute paper princess is finished! Why not add some decorations to her dress or crown to make her even more unique!
