Space rocket fathers day card craft for kids

Today were blasting off with this adorable Space rocket fathers day card. We love shape collages as they’re so simple and easy to make and whilst this card is simple it’s still super cute! we had loads of fun making these rockets in all different colours and have made enough to stash away for the next time we might need one. They’re great for other occasions too, not just fathers day!

You will need

  • Black card
  • Coloured paper
  • Star sequins (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Take your black card and fold it in half to make your card. Then, cut your card down into a square.

Start by cutting out a rectangle to make the body of your rocket. Glue it down diagonally near the top left corner as seen above. Make sure to leave some room on either end!

Cut out a triangle for the roof and glue it down on the upper end of your rocket. Then, cut out two small squares to make the rocket boosters. Glue them down at the bottom end of your rocket.

Cut out and glue down two small orange hearts to make the fire at the bottom of the rocket. Then, cut out a bigger heart, chop it in half straight down the middle and then use each piece to make a rocket wing. Glue a wing down on either side of the rocket body.

Next we need to add the windows! cut out three coloured circles. Then, cut out three smaller black circles and glue them down onto your coloured ones. Glue your windows down in a row on your rocket.
