This cute summer dragonfly craft is a great activity to keep the kids busy over the summer holidays and it looks adorable too! We used a glue gun to make our little butterflies but it works with pva or tacky glue too; you just need to be a little extra patient!
Here’s what we used
Popsicle sticks
Tacky glue/glue gun/pva
Googly eyes
Pipe Cleaners
Scissors
How to make this cute summer dragonfly craft
Glue several smaller Pom poms across the length of the popsicle stick to make the body and a large one on the end to make the end. if you’re using pva or slow drying tacky glue then you will need to leave it a while to die.
Twist two pipe cleaners together in the middle to make a cross. Twist the centre of the pipe cleaners around the popsicle stick near the head and then bend each wing piece inwards and twist to secure.
Now twist another pipe cleaner around the stick at its centre and curl the ends around to make the antennae.
Glue on two Googly eyes and once dry your adorable popsicle stick dragonfly is ready to play with or display!
Take your roll and chop it down to your desired height. Next take your pink card and cut out a strip the same height as your roll and wide enough to wrap completely around it. Glue the card around the roll.
From the same colour cut out two large pig ears and then cut two slightly smaller inner ears from a different shade of pink. Glue the pieces together to make the ears and then stick them in place inside the top of the roll.
Add two eyes on the front of the roll, just below the ears
Now make an oval snout and add two pink nostrils. Glue it on to the middle of the pigs face and use your marker to give the pig a mouth
Cut out a long thin strip with a point at the end to make a tail. Wrap the tail around a pencil to make it curl and then glue it onto the back of the roll to finish your pig! Isn’t he cute?
This adorable handprint flower pot art is so simple to make and is a perfect keepsake to gift for birthdays, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and many other occasions!

How to make our handprint flower vase art
Start by drawing around little one’s hand and then cutting out 3-5 handprints from your different coloured paper.
Next cut out an equal amount of green paper stems to match the amount of handprint flowers. Glue the stems onto the back of the flowers. Then glue the flowers down onto your paper with all the stems directing towards the middle of the page
Cut out the shape of your flower pot and add any extra decoration you would like. We used some ribbon to make a bow on ours! Glue the flower pot down at the bottom of your page across the stems.
Finish off by adding a few paper leaves and any optional extra message and your picture is done and ready to display once dry! Don’t these look adorable?
These adorable paper dragonflies are simple and easy to make, perfect for a sunny summers day with the kids!
What you’ll need
Coloured paper
Scissors
Double sided tape / glue
Googly eyes
How to make our paper dragonflies
Cut out multiple strips of paper making sure each one is thinner and shorter than the last until you have a selection of strips similar to the ones in the picture above.
Take your largest strip and add glue or tape to one and the roll it around and attach it to the other end to form a circular tube. Repeat this step with all of your other strips. With the smallest strip you can flatten it slightly to create a long tail.
Stick all of the tubes together in descending order of size to create the body of the dragonfly.
Next you’ll need to cut out the shapes of your wings. To do this we folded a piece of paper in half then drew a wing from the fold and then opened it out to reveal our double wing shape.
Once you have your two wing shapes stick them together in a cross and then onto the body of the dragonfly
Finish off your adorable paper dragonflies by adding two Googly eyes and any optional facial features!
Cut out several equal sized strips from the coloured card. You’ll probably need at least 6 plus to make a long enough snake.
Create a loop with your first strip and then continue paper chaining your strips until you reach your desired length
Now it’s time to make the head! You’ll want the head to be the same on both sides so the easiest way is to take a piece of card and fold it in half. From the fold line draw a tab to chain with and then add the shape of the head. Once you’re happy with your shape go ahead and cut it out.
Cut out a tongue and glue it down on the bottom side of the head. Add two googly eyes and any extra details then thread the head through the chain and glue together at the mouth as you can see above.
Finally we need to add the tail! Cut out a long thin triangle and glue it around the tail to finish your snake!
