Easy Paper plate snail
My 1yo loves to join in with our crafting but ofcourse some of the things we make are a bit above her ability level. So today whilst my other monkey was off playing I decided to set up something for us to make together. This easy paper plate snail was perfect, I cut out the shapes, she did all the fun sticking bits and doesn’t he look great!
You will need
Paper plate
Tissue paper
Snail coloured paper
Googly eyes
Black marker
Scissors
PVAGlue
To start you will need to cut out the shape of your snails shell. Cut out a small slope shape starting from the centre as you can see above. This gives you a slot to place your snail’s body.
Once you’ve cut out your paper plate cover it in pva glue and then layer on your ripped up pieces of tissue paper. Once you’ve finished decorating your snail brush a light layer of pva glue over your tissue paper to secure it down. Its also makes the shell look shiny too!
From your paper cut out the L shape and antennae of your snails body.
Glue a googly eye on the end of each antennae and then use your black marker to draw your snail a big smiley mouth.
Use a generous dab of glue to secure the shell to the front of your snail. Once dry your paper plate snail is finished!
