Pom pom bat bunting with printable
This adorable pom pom bat bunting with printable might just be one of my favourite crafts that we've made so far. My Kids and i both love Halloween. For the last few years we've been a bit late on the decor and haven't managed to make much. Now that they're home-schooling they seemed to have rediscovered their creative sides and have been asking for some fun spooky themed crafts. Yesterday we made some lovely Halloween paperchains and today we made these adorable bats! My daughter in particular loves them so much that i've promised she can have them for her room after Halloween.
Here's what we used
- Our bat bunting printable (You can either grab our small bats completely free at the bottom of this page, or if you wish to support my blog you can get a bundle of different sized bats HERE ❤️)
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Glue Gun or PVA glue
- A straw

First youll need to get our either our pom pom bat bunting printable. You can either grab our small bats completely free at the bottom of this page, or if you wish to support my blog you can get a bundle of different sized bats HERE ❤️. Once you have your bats printed, simply cut them out.
Now we need to make the pom poms for their fluffy bellies! Simply take one end of your yarn and begin wrapping it around your fingers until you have a fairly thick wad of yarn. You'll want to prevent too much slack but make sure that the yarn isn't wrapped too tight. We don't want it to hurt or cut off any circulation!
NOTE; If you are making the free small bats then you will likely need to use two big person fingers, or 3 little people fingers. For the larger bats youll need to up this a finger or two.
Once you're happy with the thickness of your yarn wad, simply slip it off your finger and cut off the loose end of yarn. Place the wad onto the surface infront of you. Ensure that the holes where your fingers were are on the left and right sides.
Next, cut off a small length of yarn from your ball. Place the yarn underneath your wad so that it extends from one side to the other.
Tie the two loose ends together tightly and make sure it is secure with a double or triple knot. Your yarn should now look more of a round shape.
Turn your yarn wad on its side. You should see lots of little loops. Use your scissors to snip these loops open at the centre all the way around your wad.
You should now have what resembles a pom pom! Don't worry if it looks a little wild; Simply take your scissors and trim it down to shape.
Glue your cute, fluffy pom pom in pride of place on the bats belly.
Cut off a short length of straw. Glue it horizontally across the head of the bat as you can see above.
Thread your bats onto a piece of yarn or string. You can flatten the straw on the back and even optionally add a little glue to help hold the bats in position on the line.
