These festive little fingerprint Christmas trees are probably my favourite design for this little craft. They make such sweet little keepsakes and my little ones have each made one to sit either side of the TV in our front room. We love handmade Christmas decorations and with the current covid situation we have been making the majority of our decorations from scratch. It feels so cosy and homely to be surrounded by handmade décor and the fact that its not perfect is exactly what makes it perfect!

Here’s what we used

  • Thick card (it needs to be sturdy crafting card otherwise it will bend. You can use thin card but it will need to be mounted onto thicker card)
  • Empty toilet roll
  • Multi coloured paints
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How to make our fingerprint Christmas trees

Take the toilet roll and coat it in brown paint before putting it aside to dry. This will make the trunk of your Christmas tree.

Take some green card and cut out a Christmas tree shape, don’t forget that you can use our free printable if you need a template!

Now for the fun part! Help little one dot multi coloured fingerprints all over the Christmas tree and pop it aside to dry with the trunk.

Cut out a star and glue it in position at the very top of the tree.

Take the trunk and make a snip at one end, then make an equal sized snip directly opposite the first one. Slot the Christmas tree in to the trunk and your adorable fingerprint Christmas tree is finished!
