How to make a cute gift filled cracker
First, start by cutting out a square of the paper or card that you are going to use to make the cracker. For this larger patterned one, we used 20cm x 20cm, but for the smaller ones, we used 15cm x 15cm.
Place your square in front of you and fold a small tab across the bottom of the page about 1cm tall. Apply a layer of glue or double-sided tape onto the tab.
Fold your card in half by taking the bottom two corrners of the square and folding them upwards with the tab still folded inside to meet the top. Press down the crease strongly and run your fingers over the top section to make sure your glued tab sticks securely to the other side of the card beneath it.
Fold the card in half the same way again by taking the bottom two corners and folding them up to the top two. This should leave you with a folded rectangle strip.
Fold each end inwards so that your folded ends measure roughly the same as the gap in between the two of them. This can be seen above.
Take a pair of scissors and cut the ends of your folded strip into a point. Note that the smaller the point is the tighter your cracker will seal. However, you should bear in mind the strength of your paper/card as you don’t want it to rip when tied.
Open up your cracker and sure up the folds. Your cracker should now be looking a lot more like a cracker! Take a length of ribbon and tie it securely around one end. Pop your treat (i.e bagged sweets, stickers, etc) into the other end of the cracker.
Take another length of ribbon and tie the other open end of the cracker securely. For our crackers, we then printed one of our sweet gift labels (available free at the bottom of this page). we punched a hole in the corner and tied it onto the cracker with excess ribbon.
You’re finished and your cracker is ready to gift!

How to make our cupcake cards for valentines / birthday
Start by printing my free template at the bottom of this page. Once you have your template, simply cut out all of the pieces so they are ready to draw around.
First, you’re going to need to make the base of your card. Take the cupcake card template piece, draw around it onto your coloured card of choice, and then cut it out. Fold the card in half.
Next, we are going to take the cupcake case piece and again draw around it, cut out the shape, and glue it in place on the bottom section of the card. Then, repeat the process with the top section of the cupcake.
For the heart-shaped cherry, simply cut out the larger heart, then the smaller one, and glue the two together with the smaller one on top. Add the stalk shape that can also be found on the template and glue the heart cherry onto the top of the cupcake.
Decorate the case by cutting out 4 – 5 of the long thin ovals (marked with x 5 on the tenplate) and glueing them to make the ridges of the cake case.
Finally, finish off your card by adding some optional decorations to your cupcakes. We used a mixture of rectangle sprinkles, cute hearts, and little circles. You can use anything you like with your little ones to decorate!
Once finished, simply add your special message to the inside, and your adorable cupcake card for valentines / birthdays is ready to gift!
