A sweet treat or a small gift to pop inside
How to make a cute gift filled cracker
First, start by cutting out a square of the paper or card that you are going to use to make the cracker. For this larger patterned one, we used 20cm x 20cm, but for the smaller ones, we used 15cm x 15cm.
Place your square in front of you and fold a small tab across the bottom of the page about 1cm tall. Apply a layer of glue or double-sided tape onto the tab.
Fold your card in half by taking the bottom two corrners of the square and folding them upwards with the tab still folded inside to meet the top. Press down the crease strongly and run your fingers over the top section to make sure your glued tab sticks securely to the other side of the card beneath it.
Fold the card in half the same way again by taking the bottom two corners and folding them up to the top two. This should leave you with a folded rectangle strip.
Fold each end inwards so that your folded ends measure roughly the same as the gap in between the two of them. This can be seen above.
Take a pair of scissors and cut the ends of your folded strip into a point. Note that the smaller the point is the tighter your cracker will seal. However, you should bear in mind the strength of your paper/card as you don’t want it to rip when tied.
Open up your cracker and sure up the folds. Your cracker should now be looking a lot more like a cracker! Take a length of ribbon and tie it securely around one end. Pop your treat (i.e bagged sweets, stickers, etc) into the other end of the cracker.
Take another length of ribbon and tie the other open end of the cracker securely. For our crackers, we then printed one of our sweet gift labels (available free at the bottom of this page). we punched a hole in the corner and tied it onto the cracker with excess ribbon.
You’re finished and your cracker is ready to gift!

How to make our cupcake cards for valentines / birthday
Start by printing my free template at the bottom of this page. Once you have your template, simply cut out all of the pieces so they are ready to draw around.
First, you’re going to need to make the base of your card. Take the cupcake card template piece, draw around it onto your coloured card of choice, and then cut it out. Fold the card in half.
Next, we are going to take the cupcake case piece and again draw around it, cut out the shape, and glue it in place on the bottom section of the card. Then, repeat the process with the top section of the cupcake.
For the heart-shaped cherry, simply cut out the larger heart, then the smaller one, and glue the two together with the smaller one on top. Add the stalk shape that can also be found on the template and glue the heart cherry onto the top of the cupcake.
Decorate the case by cutting out 4 – 5 of the long thin ovals (marked with x 5 on the tenplate) and glueing them to make the ridges of the cake case.
Finally, finish off your card by adding some optional decorations to your cupcakes. We used a mixture of rectangle sprinkles, cute hearts, and little circles. You can use anything you like with your little ones to decorate!
Once finished, simply add your special message to the inside, and your adorable cupcake card for valentines / birthdays is ready to gift!
These adorable tp roll heart cards are so sweet and easy to make. They’re simple enough to make with both preschoolers and older children and are fab to gift for a whole variety of occasions such as fathers Day, mothers Day, valentines Day, birthdays, and more!
Here’s what we used
Toilet roll tube
Paint
White paper
Coloured card

Glue
Optional – a printed message
How to make our TP Roll Heart Cards
Place your paint onto a decent sized flat surface. As you can see, we used a plate to make sure we had plenty of space to dip rather than bumping the sides of the kid’s paint trays. To make the two tone hearts we simply put two colours of paints just touching on our plate.
Take your toilet roll tube and shape it into a heart by pushing one side inwards to make the inwards point and the two curves of heart and then pushing the opposite side into a outwards point to make the bottom point of the heart.
Dip one end of your tp roll heart into the coloured paint. we tried to make our hearts half and half by putting the points right on the line where the two colours met.
Print your hearts all over your piece of paper. We used A4 sized paper so that we had enough to make two cards from each sheet. once youre happy with your prints, pop them aside to dry.
Now take your coloured card and fold it in half to make your card.
Once your paper that you printed with hearts is dry you want to cut it down to fit onto your card, you could cut it into a rectangle, a heart or any other shape that takes your fancy!
Optionally add a special message and your cute tp roll heart card is finished!

A pen
A pencil
How to make our handprint flower cards
Start by taking the piece of card that you are going to use for the main body of your card. Fold it in half so that your fold stretches along the longest part of your card so that you have a long thin card rather than a regular sized one.
Cut a small section off the bottom of the card, approximately 4cm thick. And then pop the small piece aside for later.
Place your little ones’ hand onto the coloured card that you will be using for your flower head and use a pencil to draw around it. Once you have your handprint, use a pair of scissors to cut it out.
Now take your green card and cut out a long thin strip to make the flower stem, glue the stem onto the back of your handprint flower.
Next, glue the flower onto your card with the handprint near the top. Cut out some little leaves and glue them in position on either the side of the stem, wherever you think looks cute.
Take the small section of card that you snipped off the main body of your card and cut out a small heart from it. Glue the heart onto the handprint flower.
Finally use your pen to add any cute little personalised message; these cards are great for a whole host of occasions!
You’re finished! I bet your cards look beautiful, did you know you can now share them with us on Facebook?!
These gorgeous and simple ribbon roses make perfect eternal gifts for loved ones. Once you’ve got the hang of them they’re really quick and easy to make – you can whip up a whole bouquet in an hour or two and unlike real flowers they last forever!
Here’s what you will need
Ribbon in your choice of colour, we will be using this ribbon from amazon
Green bamboo sticks
A glue gun
Fabric scissors
Optional – a lighter (to be used by adults only of course!)
How to make our simple ribbon roses
Start by taking your ribbon and cutting out around 16-20 equal strips. We cut our strips to around 8cm long. To hurry up the process you may wish to cut out a piece of card the same length as you would like the strips, you can then wrap the ribbon around the required amount of times and snip the ends open to make the strips quickly.
Now we’re going to make our first petal. At this point I usually take a lighter and just gently and quickly run the ends of the ribbon through the flame to seal them and stop them fraying. I then lay the petal out infront of me.
Now we take the top two corners and fold them downwards to touch the bottom and use a small dot of glue to secure them in place.
Now take the two bottom corners and fold them inwards to meet the two bottom points that you just folded. Glue them in place.
Turn your petal over so that the back is facing towards you. Add a small dab of glue at the bottom centre of your petal. Use the fold line that you can see in the top picture as a guide on where to pop your glue. Now pinch where you have glued to give your finished petal some volume.
Repeat these steps with all of your remaining ribbon strips until you have all of your petals
Now take two of your petals and turn them so that you can see the pinched section as you can see above. Glue the two petals together at one end.
Continue chaining all of the petals together In this way.
Glue your stick down inside the fold on the end petal.
Now flip the petals so that the pinch is facing towards you. Add a line of glue along the bottom of the petals and begun rolling all the petals around the stick, pinching the base of the flower every now and then to secure it.
Once you have finished rolling all of the petals squash the bottom of the rose and push out the petals until you’re happy with the rose.
