Paper plate Gruffalo

Paper plate Gruffalo

March is just around the corner and with it comes world book day! We love books in this house and if you have seen some of my previous posts, you will know that we are huge Julia Donaldson fans. The Gruffalo is such a great kids book and i know that it’s one my son will remember in years to come; just as i remember my favourite childhood books. This Paper plate Gruffalo was inspired by the second book in the Gruffalo series:the Gruffalo’s child. if you haven’t read it, you should!

You will need

  • Paper plate
  • Brown paint and paintbrush
  • Orange, green, white and black paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

First coat your paper plate in brown paint and then put it aside to dry.

Paper plate Gruffalo

Cut out two brown ears and two pointy white horns and glue them down in place on the back of your paper plate.

Paper plate Gruffalo

Cut out two orange ovals for eyes and two black circles to make the pupils. cut out a small green circle for the wart on the Gruffalo’s nose. Glue all your pieces down in place.

Paper plate Gruffalo

Take your black paper. Cut out two rectangle eyebrows and a slightly curved smiley mouth.

Paper plate Gruffalo

Draw on a nose and then finish off your Gruffalo by adding two pointy fang-like teeth and some stubby round teeth. How great does your paper plate Gruffalo look?!
